A few days after I lost Cruzer, I was asked if I could be available to help with a Corgi C section. Through xrays, they knew mom had at least 10, possibly more. When there are that many, the more hands the better. The little ones and 'Wally' were introduced to their wonderful new world. "Wally" is the big puppy laying on top of everybody.

Wow, when my show puppy was slipping away at the vet's years ago, I was midwifing a friend's husky in labor. When I went inside to call my friend with the news, I found out my Shawnee was gone. I think these moments are what gets us through.
That is the sweetest pile of puppies I've ever seen! I know it's bitter sweet as you just put your own pet to rest....but these moments bring smiles and tenderness and puppy love continues...

Just wanted to post from our conversation two weeks ago that we know how hard it was to let Cruiser go, but to uphold your promise to all your dogs to let them live a life of dignity and free of pain is a brave promise when it just breaks your heart to do the right thing. We are sad to have to say good-bye to Maxine's daddy, but having his personality and temperament live on in such a wonderful working dog is a testament to your great ethics and standards in making this such a great breed. We are so glad to have this litter of puppies help you take that edge off the sadness and bring in the joy of new life and possibilities!
