RRCB Quilt 2 Step 8 Slow Down

I'm having trouble putting the blocks together. My 'help' is being too helpful.

I don't know how many of you have tried Mary Ellen's Best Press Spray, but a friend and I were talking about it the other day and how much she liked it. I happen to mention that everyone I knew thought it was the best thing since sliced bread but had never tried it because of the expense.

RRCB Quilt 2 Step 8

I put together a few blocks just to see what finished quilt might look like. Still deciding on the inner border color.

Here it is! So purple and so bright. Not sewn together yet, but this is what the center will be. Borders are next.

I skipped step 6 but you can see the blocks in step 7. Oh MY!!!!!! This is SO PURPLE!!!!!! Jimmy and Lois are testing it out.

Step 4 and step 5. Step 5 is 600  2" HST and 30 2" squares of the constant color. In this quilt, the constant is a green. My neutrals are the purple. Who would think purple would be neutral?  On to clue 6.

Purple string blocks for Quilt 2. 7 down, 53 to go! I still need more variety in my purples, but I think it's going to work.   Jimmy giving the final inspection.

These are the neutrals for the RRCB Quilt 2. I'm still going to make the purple ones, but need a greater variety of purples to finish them. On to step 4!

Finished the step 2 with Batiks and my helper tonight.

Step 2 Quilt 2 RRCB Regular Cottons

These are my Step 2 for the regular cottons. I finished them last night and realized as I was pinning the last group together, I used the wrong color. The brown was supposed to be purple. I've decided to go with it and use my purples for my neutrals. At the last minute, I decided to use browns as my neutrals instead of creams.  It will be interesting to see how it turns out. At the very worst, the dogs will love it, if it turns out great, the dogs will still love it.

I found so many colors I liked in my stash I decided to make 2 quilts. one out of Batiks, the other, regular cottons.  As you can see, I had lots of help picking the colors and sewing.

With all the help I'm going to have, this might be more difficult than I thought.

Garden Maze Blocks

Where does the time go. Garden Maze block exchange on the top is half done.

Some of the  new fabrics for Bonnie Hunter's new mystery starting the middle of November,  "Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll".  I'll make the final decision on which colors when I know the yardage needed for the colors.
